Terms

These are the rules for using Neem, in plain words. By using Neem you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
What Neem is, and isn't
Neem gives you a second opinion on a message, link or call, shows you the tricks it found, helps you ask someone you trust, and guides you through the first hour if you have paid.
- Neem gives guidance. It is not legal advice, financial advice or police help, and it does not replace any of them.
- Neem never guarantees that a message is safe. When we find no warning signs we say “no known warning signs”, which is not the same thing.
- Neem cannot promise you will get your money back. Whether money can be recovered depends on your bank and the authorities, and on how fast you act.
- Our analysis can be wrong or incomplete. You decide what to do, and you are responsible for that decision.
In an emergency
If you have already sent money, or someone is pressuring you right now, call your bank and the cyber fraud helpline 1930 first, then report at cybercrime.gov.in. The first hour matters most. Use Neem after that, or while you wait. Neem is not an emergency service.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older. If you are younger, use Neem only with a parent or guardian.
- Give true details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has your account.
- Checking a message and the emergency help (“I already paid”) work without an account. Some features need one.
How we handle your data is explained on the Privacy page.
Fair use
Please don’t:
- Use Neem to test, tune or improve a scam, or to learn how to avoid being flagged.
- Use trust links to harass, frighten or pressure anyone, or to send anyone content that isn’t a real check.
- Scrape Neem, overload it, or try to get past its limits or protections.
- Upload anything illegal, or someone else’s private details without a good reason.
- Pretend to be someone else.
We may limit or close an account that breaks these rules.
Leaves
Leaves are Neem’s credits. When you are signed in, each check uses one. Leaves have no cash value, can’t be transferred to another person, and can’t be refunded or exchanged for money. The emergency help, and the page the person you ask sees, never use leaves.
Ask someone I trust
When you use this feature, Neem makes a link with a short masked summary and your first name. Anyone who has the link can open it, so send it only to people you trust. The link stops working after 24 hours.
Our responsibility, and its limits
We work hard to keep Neem accurate and available, but we provide it “as it is”, and it may be down, slow or wrong at times.
As far as the law allows, Neem is not liable for money you lose, or for any indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of Neem or from relying on what it says. Where we are liable despite this, our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us to use Neem in the previous 12 months. Nothing here limits any right you have under law that can’t be limited by contract.
Changes and ending your account
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top, and tell account holders by email before a significant change starts. If you keep using Neem after that, you accept the new terms.
You can stop using Neem at any time. To delete your account, email hello@neem.family.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction over any dispute about them, except where the law gives you the right to go elsewhere. Questions about these terms: hello@neem.family.
